Time by Delina Hill-Brooker

Does it feel like you are always running out of time, or sometimes you may feel like the day is moving too slow and you have too much time on your hands. The latter is probably more so when you are doing something that you really don’t want to do.

Maybe I’m weird, and I’m really okay with that, but it seems like the more I have to do, the more I am able to get done. If I don’t have much to do I hardly get anything done. On my busiest days I’ve caught myself glancing at the clock and singing Steve Miller’s Fly Like an Eagle; “Time keeps on slippin’, slippin’, slippin’ into the future.”

When I go from a phase of little to do, to too much to do, I fuss at myself and say, “I could’ve been done with that a long time ago!” With today’s technology and our cultures addiction to social media, games on our phones, reality TV shows and of course all things Shonda Rhimes (oh that’s just me?) lol I wonder how much time we really are wasting being non productive. If we didn’t indulge in these things, what would we be doing with our time? Sleeping? Exercising? Spending uninterrupted quality time with our family and friends? Cleaning that room that we’ve been saying we were going to clean for months now? Can we go cold turkey on these things or should we just scale back? I’m actually afraid to clock myself to see exactly how much time I spend on these things. They help my day go by and help break up the monotony of the regular day to day happenings that I have going on. And in today’s world you have to multi-task, which I do, but…

Take some time out to think about what you are doing with your time. Times a tickin’!
